“The answer to the public school problem is the Church.”

The Moment is Now

Families are walking away from public education in record numbers. They’re ready. They’re committed. But most pastors don’t realize their churches can be the answer—that they can open their doors to homeschooling families and make discipleship through education a core ministry.

We have pastors waiting. We have families searching. We have existing leads in our pipeline. What we need is funding to train, equip, and prepare them by June 2026, so that when August arrives, 100+ churches can welcome families with confidence.

The time to act is now.

Our Immediate Need: Additional Funds by April 3, 2026

The Pastor Plan has reserved a booth at the 2026 Southern Baptist Convention in Orlando, FL this June, where nearly 20,000 pastors and church leaders are expected to attend. We need at least an additional $5,000-$6,000 to cover convention booth costs, team travel and accommodations, meals, transportation, and related expenses for our three board members attending.

These funds will put us face to face with thousands of church leaders who are actively looking for answers about homeschooling. Every dollar given helps us to:

  • Reach pastors and church leaders with the invitation to make homeschooling a core ministry of the church.
  • Train and equip pastors to launch church-based homeschool ministries.
  • Provide complete blueprints for churches to open homeschool support groups and co-ops at no charge to them.
  • Point pastors to Alliance-affiliated state homeschool organizations in their own states.

And this is just the beginning. Once these churches launch, the cycle continues. The Pastor Plan is not a one-time event. It is a permanent ministry presence that pastors can turn to again and again as they navigate the work of leading their families out of the public school system and into the home. We walk with them, we equip them, and we stay with them for the long road ahead.

The Homeschooling Families Searching for You

Over the past decade, homeschooling has grown into a significant movement—with hundreds of thousands of families now choosing to educate their children at home. These aren’t fringe families; they’re your church members, your neighbors, committed parents making a deliberate choice about their children’s education and worldview. Many of these families are looking for community, structure, and connection to other families with similar values. Currently, they’re either gathering informally or paying private schools a significant tuition. But here’s what most pastors don’t realize: your church can be that community hub.

You can open your doors one or two days a week—and watch what happens. Parents from your community begin teaching classes to one another’s children, using faith-based curriculum, all happening right there in your church’s embrace. There’s no need for fancy new buildings or extra staff. What you already have is enough. And here’s what families discover: their children’s education isn’t something happening separate from their faith—it becomes an extension of it. Your church becomes their answer—where education is discipleship. The Pastor Plan Initiative (PPi) will help.

“I am a pastor leading a small church in a Black township in South Africa (Tembisa). By God’s grace, I have been able to homeschool 22 teenagers from our church and community… Because of you, they are getting an education and learning to follow Christ.”
