The Pastor Plan Initiative (PPi)

“The Pastor Plan helps churches become the reason families stop sending their kids to public school.”

The Pastor Plan Initiative exists for one reason: to help pastors get the children in their congregations out of the secular school system and into a Christ-centered education at home.

The statistics are devastating. The majority of children raised in Christian homes who attend public schools will walk away from the faith. These are not someone else’s children. They are sitting in your pews on Sunday and sitting in a classroom on Monday where they are taught that God is irrelevant, that biblical morality is bigotry, and that their parents’ faith is an outdated relic. The public school system is not neutral ground. It is actively working against everything the church teaches.

Most pastors sense this. Many privately agree. But they do not know how to say it from the pulpit, nor what to offer their families as an alternative. That is where The Pastor Plan comes in.

What We Do

We walk pastors through God’s Word to help them see clearly why placing Christian children in secular schools undermines the spiritual mission of the church and the family. We give them the biblical language to articulate what they already know in their hearts. And then we give them a plan.

The Pastor Plan provides a complete, step-by-step blueprint for churches to open their doors to homeschooling families one or two days a week, creating a co-op or support group right inside the church. Parents teach one another’s children using a faith-based curriculum. No new buildings. No extra staff. No hiring teachers. Just the church doing what the church was always meant to do: raising the next generation in the knowledge of God.

Everything The Pastor Plan provides is free to the church. Training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support. All of it. No cost to the church or its leaders.

Why This Matters Now

Families are leaving the public school system in record numbers. They are ready to homeschool, but they need help. They are looking to their churches, and most churches have nothing to offer them. The Pastor Plan changes that. We take pastors through the entire process, from understanding the biblical case for Christian education to opening their church doors to families who are ready to come home.

This is not a program. It is an ongoing ministry. The Pastor Plan does not show up once and leave. We stay with pastors and churches as they build, grow, and multiply. When a church launches, we remain available as long as they need us. When questions come up, we answer them. When a pastor needs encouragement, we provide it. This is a relationship, and it lasts.

Who We Are

The Pastor Plan Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit led by Paul and Gena Suarez, who together have over 35 years of homeschooling experience and founded The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine in 2001. David Watkins, former Chairman of the National Alliance of Christian Home Education Leadership (The Alliance), serves as Vice President. Homer Allen, our Director of Community Engagement, brings over 37 years in Christian education, having served as Head of School at three Christian academies, and currently serves as president of Homeschool New England. Our advisory board includes Dr. Brian Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute and E. Ray Moore of the Exodus Mandate.

We work alongside the Alliance-based state homeschool organizations to ensure pastors and families know exactly where to turn for support in their states.
